Object-oriented writing workshop

My object-oriented writing workshop is a multi-day workshop that I sometimes teach as a whole, sometimes in parts.

One of its offspring is the Love Token workshop. This is a writing-and-making session in which participants create a small love token: a handmade object or note for a beloved person, place, community, or other companion.

Starting from the question of what the radical potential of romance might be, the workshop proposes love not just as a private feeling but as a way of relating politically and collectively. Participants work with a chosen object and short exercises in object-oriented writing (after, among others, Francis Ponge) to compose a text that is then made into a token or love letter.

Other elements of this workshops go into the history of the objet trouvé-tradition and its associated writing methods.
