Flax, baby! Flax!
From May to September 2024 I performed in Flax, baby! Flax!: an experimental opera by Marie Ilse Bourlanges and Liza Prins that reimagines the labor-intensive passage from flax to linen through song, gesture, and sculptural tools. Drawing on research into historical work songs, the piece weaves a new repertoire that links material process to questions of labor, protest, and care.
