Its (im)possible formation: The Book

Conceived for Onomatopee’s 15-year publishing practice, this project invited writers, artists, graphic designers, poets, and publishers to reflect on the book as object and on how (and why) we archive books. The texts are gathered in Its (im)possible formation: The Book, designed by Tjobo Kho and published by Onomatopee. Each copy is hand-printed on the Riso in Onomatopee’s workshop and is accompanied by a silk bookmark.

The book was selected for The Best Dutch Book Designs 2024 and will be on show during the accompanying exhibition at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, running from November 8, 2025 – January 4, 2026.
