Ornament mobile
Ornament mobile is a two-part installation consisting of a hanging metal mobile and a vertical silk tapestry. Scattered across the rust-coloured ground are silver figures of animals and hybrid forms, slightly raised, made out of embossed metal. The suspended ornaments of the mobile orbit these figures, together drawing on the decorative ambitions of the Amsterdamse School to ask what ornament can hold and demand when stripped of its apology.
